I fell in love with running at the age of 8 when I ran my first 4 mile race in just under 30 minutes. I did my first half-marathon in 2007 and my first marathon in 2008. In 2011, a stress-fracture in my sacrum sidelined me from running. I swam for the first time in 2011, and bought a bike in 2012. I did my first triathlon, a half-Ironman in June 2013 and I did my first Ironman in November 2013. I would now consider myself a triathlete, but running is still my strongest and favorite discipline. I am a middle school science teacher at The Bronxville School and love sharing my healthy lifestyle with my students and athletes. My husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter to the world in August. I trained throughout my pregnancy and began running again soon after delivery. I will be focusing on racing shorter races this year and look to re-qualify for the Ironman World Championship in 2017.
2014 was my best year of racing. My biggest athletic accomplishment was qualifying for the 2014 Ironman World Championship in my first attempt at the Ironman distance, in my first season as a triathlete, but I have had many other success I worked hard for, prior to that and after that race. 1st place female at the 2014 Greenwich Half-Marathon where I set a PR of 1:21:57. 1st place female at the 2014 Sleepy Hollow Half-Marathon, which was also the New York State Championship race. (1:23:03) Marathon PR of 3:05:28 (Boston Marathon) Half-Ironman PR 4:50:39 (Timberman 70.3, 2014, qualified for 2015 70.3 World Championship) Ironman PR 9:43:42 (Florida, 2014, qualified for 2014 Ironman World Championship) 7th female 25-29 AG at the 70.3 World Championship in 2013 26th female 30-34 AG at the Ironman World Championship in 2014 5K PR 18:44 10K PR 38:31 Olympic Triathlon PR 2:20:49 Ironman Gold All World Athlete in both 2013 & 2014 USA Triathlon All-American in both 2013 & 2014
