some good stuff you've said about nuun:

we hear a lot from nuun users who are out there finding nuun helps them. some write to telluswhatsup@nuun.com saying that they’ve reached their personal bests using nuun, or that it helped them prepare for a charity bike ride in the arizona heat. some love nuun for hiking in the olympic mountains, others for how it’s made grabbing hydration on the go easier. it’s been great to see how many of you are using nuun to stay hydrated while traveling the world. we've even heard nuun helps you recover from the post event party (tut tut nick rhodes...) the common link though is that you all want to tell others about why nuun’s a good idea for our health and fitness. so, drum roll please, here’s some good stuff you’ve said about nuun.
  • an important cause

i just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your support during the first stage of lisa's 810. i was on her crew and had the opportunity to spend that time with lisa, and also with marybeth. what an experience! they are certainly two of the most powerful women i've ever met. the cause of AIDS orphans is so compelling that it has really started to resonate with people now that they're becoming aware of the scope and the depth of the problem. of course awareness, and action, are what lisa's 810 is all about--and we couldn't have managed it without the generous support of lisa's sponsors, like nuun. lisa has been my coach for over two years now, and based on her recommendation i started using nuun products, and i wouldn't go without them now. i used them in the sahara this spring during the marathon des sables (and took advantage of your discount offer on the nuun website then). the results were just great. in particular, i found the tablets easy to carry and then get into my water bottles. in the past i've used powders that go all over the place and then get very sticky on the outsides of the bottles. yours are wonderful products! so thank you again, and i wish you the best.

  • nuun travels

while travelling in the boston area last may i purchased two packs of nunn at a bike shop. the shop really spoke highly of the effectiveness and handiness of the product so i thought i’d try them. a month later i competed in the etape du tour cycle race and had great results. throughout the day i drank 6 waterbottles with nunn tablets. no cramps which have often been a problem in the past. i also found drinking to be a pleasure rather than a chore.

i love your product, thank you! nuun turns my water into the perfect hydration, making it easy to maintain proper electrolyte balance without the extra sugar and artificial stuff. a fun nuun story: just a few weeks ago while enjoying a pre-race dinner before the pigman half ironman, i popped a nuun in my water, and before i knew it, my tube was empty and all 10 people at the table were watching their water transform into 'perfect Hydration'. now i need to carry two tubes of nuun wherever i go because friends don’t let friends train without nuun!

hey guys, while climbing isn't comparable to running a marathon or triathalon, as a climber i lose a lot of water just hiking from cliff to cliff and climbing in the 90 plus degree weather of my local crag, the red river gorge ky and all across the united states. luckily you guys have created a perfect and easy way to keep hydrated through out all my treks. you guys have been with me on every climbing trip this year so far, and have been keeping me hydrated through all my hardest sends, so just writing to say thanks, and send you a little picture from 95 feet up on the beautiful sandstone of the rrg.

  • not our usual compliment, but...

yesterday just before a (bicycle) race one of my teammates found she had a handlebar end cap missing. my quick thinking husband took the top off of a nuun tube and plugged the empty space. the cap fit great and may have saved the race for her (the officials could have told her she could not race had the missing bar end been noticed). another reason to always have a tube of nuun!

  • nuunlove's bigger in texas

my husband and i live in the sweat factory otherwise known as houston, and we are training through the summer for some bike races, half marathons and half ironmans through the fall. neither of us can tolerate sugary sports drinks, and we went searching for alternatives. we tried a non-nuun knock-off, and it was oookkkaaayyy, but then we came upon nuun, and the heavens parted and angels sang! We now order it off your website since we always are out to buy more at once than any of the local bike shops even have on display! all the flavors are great. we play russian roulette, blinding dropping flavors in water bottles so that we are surprised when we take the first sip. seriously, it isn't sticky, it isn't too sweet, it tastes good and refreshing, we are cramp free, we drink MORE which is better for us. the containers are light and easy to carry. we wish you gave them away, but since you don't, at least it isn't as expensive as all those nasty pre-made overly sugared sports drinks. last week you went to a 71 bike race with us, next week the hotter than hell hundred, and you'll be heading to the oakbrook half marathon outside chicago and the longhorn half ironman in austin soon. we have your bumper stickers on our cars, and we bought some of your water bottles. we can't wait to convert the world to nuun, a more effective and healthier alternative to the -ades!

my order was for me, my trainer, my brother and my workout partner. my brother drinks a lot of water when working outside, and in the 105+ degree texas summer weather couldn't understand why all the water he drinks doesn't quench his thirst. now he's a firm believer in nuun - just for day-to-day activities. he was really shocked at how much better he felt with 1 large bottle of water with nuun than he did after 2 or 3 or even 4 bottles of plain water. i gave my trainer some extra tubes. she is the assistant department head in the PT department at the gym. she shared some of hers with her staff and it was a huge hit. after they ran through 2 tubes in a couple of days, she sent them all to your website to get their own. one of the engineers i work with runs marathons and triathlons with his wife. we were discussing his training yesterday and explained all about nuun and its benefits to one of our new team members, so i gave him a tube. ...all those extra tubes you sent certainly went to good use! i've been spreading the good news! not only does the product speak for itself, but your excellent customer service impressed everyone i shared this with. thanks again!!!

i am a 67 year old, retired yacht broker. i know what water is all about: "in it," "on it," "with it," and "with-in." what seems fun to do, now that i am retired, is haul stones around my yard as landscaping is my new hobby. at my age, being in pretty good shape, the old legs just don't work like they should at the end of the day. cramps being the big problem. i discovered gatorade helped. so, i then realized electrolytes seemed to be the issue. as the creators of nuun discovered you can't find electrolytes "almost anywhere." with a last ditch effort, lucky me, i found any mountain in corte madera, just as they received some free samples. being the salesman that i am, i walked away with a free tube of the kona cola. what a gift! all i can say is thank you for a great product and giving my legs back. i would come out of retirement to let others know of nuun.

i was at the FSA grand prix track cycling race this past weekend and i tried your product. i needed to find a hydration product that worked for me. well, you name it, i have tried them, refresh, electrolyte tablets from natural factor, e load and the list goes on. nothing seemed to work, not to mention i also have to be careful of sugar and preservative content. this weekend i came across your product at the booth set up. on the saturday morning i have one tablet diluted in my water bottle. in the afternoon i had another one before my warm up and spin on the rollers. my first race was at 7pm. the difference in my legs was AMAZING, no cramping, no tightness. i was given legs that just wanted to go and go they did. this was the first time this season my legs cooperated with me and i felt great! my fellow canadians that were racing even commented on how well i did, instead of getting dropped off the back of the group like what has been happening all season. i was up front with the strong ladies!!! i was compelled to let you know how handy my nuun was on my trip. i brought a few different kinds of electrolyte supplements on the climb with me -- finishing all of them! the nuun had the easiest packaging (who can break open a packet full of powder at 45 degree slope?!?) and it was the ONLY one that dissolved in the cold water from the glacier that we used to fill our nalgenes. the others just sat in a clump at the bottom. i realized how important the nuun supplement was when i was up there and it helped out a lot. i would chose it again over GU powder and lyte n go. so...thanks nuun!!!

  • gretchen and the super-kidney

love your stuff - thought i’d let you know about why i drink it- so last year I got sick, in mexico - and i had to have one of my kidneys out. now i have only one kidney, which medically is fine, you only need one kidney to live a healthy life. however - it’s really important to stay hydrated to help the kidney out and not strain it by becoming dehydrated. so - i drink a lot of water anyway - i’m a runner and biker and generally in good shape, but the kidney needed more water than I could take in. I found your Nuun after trying all the typical stomach aching, high-sodium, muscle cramping off-the-shelf sugar drinks sitting on a lonely shelf all by itself. i bought one tube, and after a week went in and bought all the tubes and keep buying cases from this local bike shop. i don’t go anywhere without nuun. just thought it’d be good to let you know that medically, people who have to stay hydrated would really benefit from your product. i know i have. maybe push your product into some of the medical clinics or pharmacy’s so people like me can do their body good, with nuun. or maybe you could sponsor my super kidney, on its own team - working to keep me alive. (just kidding) thanks for making such a great product, from me and my one super kidney. all the best and to your continued unmitigated success!

  • what the heck are you called?

finally, someone made an electrolyte formula that works in the real world. no more spilled powder, tearing packages open or drinking stuff that tastes like sugar water. i do a lot of trail running, climbing, hiking, backpacking and adventure racing and i have tried all the other options out there to keep hydrated and my electrolyte levels up. 2 weeks ago i was doing the “fullmoon in June” 36hr adventure race and was doing the usual spilling of gatorade powder and having a sticky mustache trick in order to hydrate myself. at one point in the race when i had sticky red goop all down the front of my shirt i thought to myself…there must be a better way to do this. the next day after the race had ended i was watching the primal quest race updates and I saw team DART-NUUN and could not figure out what the heck nuun stood for. i clicked and found what i had been missing out on. the next day i was down at the local running store and found that they carried nuun. i immediately bought some too try and have been using it for the past week and really like it. i went on a couple of bikes, runs and a good hike in the scorching heat and the whole time i felt well hydrated and did not at any time think i would bonk or need anything besides the nuun in my water bladder. the other 2 hikers i was with were not as lucky and even the dog kept collapsing in the shade of the trees or laying down in the creek at every chance he had (it was freakin hot, mid 90’s). i felt great and did not have any of the usual cravings for salty foods that i usually get after a good hard hike. i just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that i will be letting everyone that i train with know about nuun (i might not tell people on the other teams though). thanks for making a product that addresses the problems of all the other products out there.

after stumbling across nuun we have quickly become fans. zena loves the fact that there are no calories, i have no idea what she's on about, but love the taste. the australian climate isn't the easiest on the body, and we really appreciate the re-hydration ability of nuun, and the convenience of the tablets goes without saying - no more messy dramas mid race when you open your pack to refill the camelbak. have been using nuun for a number of races now, from sprints up to 5 dayers, and the hydration difference is remarkable. thanks for a great product, it's very quickly becoming a winner when other teams see just how easy and effective it is.

  • nuun and peanut butter

hi nuun team, i discovered nuun through watching online updates of various races. when i decided to find out exactly what nuun was, i got really excited, as i had gastric bypass surgery in 2004 and am unable to tolerate sugary electrolyte replacement drinks. what nuun has done for me, is allow me, the girl who used to weigh 400 pounds, to become a quasi-athlete. i started out participating in orienteering meets and wasn't ever quite happy enough with my placement in the finish. i decided i was the one holding our team back, as the people i was racing with were in better shape than i was, and decided that i needed to start trail running. because i bonk fairly quickly, i carry the nuun even on a training run. nuun has worked amazingly well for me and i'm currently in the best shape of my life (at about 145 pounds). i'm (slowly, cuz i'm a big chicken) branching out into cycling, and my bike proudly sports my nuun water bottles. thank you SO much for creating nuun. it has, honestly, allowed me to do things i never - ever - pictured myself doing. powered by nuun, and, umm...peanut butter banana sandwiches...

set out with some tri-berry nuun sunday morning, first time trying it. i was using other sports drinks but they were too sugary, gummed up in my throat after a few hours and gave me GI issues. i set out on a 60 mile ride, it was 85 degrees at 6 am and pushing 95 degrees when i got home 3 hours later. all i can say is THANK YOU. this stuff is fantastic!!! i never got that syrupy-in-the-back-of-the-throat feeling, legs stayed fresh, i was hydrated because this stuff tastes incredible, you want to keep drinking it!! i drank 2 h2o bottles and 2 bottes with nuun tabs, a few gels and never once did my stomach give me issues. i feel this will be the saving grace for my first half ironman providence in july. thank you!!

  • indispensable equipment

hi, firstly, i would like to congratulate you on an excellent, easy to use product that i now feel is an indispensable piece of equipment for any race having just competed in and WON my first ever multi-day running event to raise money for children's cancer charity. thought i would write to you to share my experiences with your product. being a scotsman living in england, UK running great distances requires keeping an eye on your hydration but to then undertake a 5 day, 5 stage, 150 km race in the unfamiliar hot and humid climate of guadeloupe in the caribbean means a whole new water/electrolyte/energy balance must be developed. thanks to nuun and it's simple, easy to use instructions that require no mixing and can be done whilst running i managed to stay one step ahead of my competitors stealing valuable seconds as they stopped to mix electrolyte and salt drinks. please continue to produce a great product, i wouldn't have made it off the start line without you.

  • straightforward, but tremendous difference

i sweat a lot when performing various physical activities that range from mountain biking to soccer but i always felt really drained the following day. i tried your product about 2.5 months ago, after using nuun i felt a tremendous difference. i was not as drained the following day and was able to do other activities. other things i like about your product are that it does not make feel jittery, nervous or bloated. it is a straightforward product that feels good. thank you.

  • rec racers need nuun, too

you will not find my name at the top of any pro sports charts, nor am i out there breaking any speed records, but my friends and i have been solid recreational athletes biking and running in local races for 20 years. recently i was out riding with my friend cathy and i was complaining that my gatorade concoction always left my mouth feeling sticky. cathy gave me a tube of the nuun tablets to try. now my friend christina and I are both hooked! it's great to get the electrolytes we need for long rides without the calories and the sticky feeling that sports drinks leave you with. thanks to cathy and nuun for taking care of hydration needs in a tasty way!

just wanted to take a minute to thank you for continuing to make such a great product. i just got back from st. croix 70.3 and it was by far the hottest, most brutal race i have ever done. the one thing i did not have to worry about was my hydration. even when it got up in the 90's with very high humidity, i was good to go. on the bike i just grabbed water from the aid stations, dropped a nuun tab in my aerodrink and filled it up. then for the run, i used my nathan bottle prefilled with tri-berry nuun so all i needed from the aid stations was ice. nuun helped me to a 70.3 world championship slot and i know it will get me to a kona qualifying time at im moo this september.

nuun is with me whether i am cycling, running, or during my life as an orchestral musician. i use nuun during my performances as a tasty drink and to keep the body's fluids balanced. nuun is the perfect drink over plain water during long engagements such as eight weeks of performances with mannheim steamroller.

  • nuun - they're not just for sporting events

hello nuun team! my 14 year old son has been working towards his goal of winning a prime lap in the cat 4/5 race, and last thursday his hard work paid off. he wanted and won the first prime, which was a nuun water bottle and nuun tablets - in his favorite lemon lime flavor no less! the groovy nuun bottle is now his official lucky water bottle. nuun tablets are an absolute necessity in our household. they are our preferred electrolyte replacement - they taste great - not too sweet - and are really portable. my 17 year old will be packing many a tube of nuun to share with his friends this weekend at an outdoor concert! thanks again for creating such a great product that works so well.

  • paul thinks we're awesome

hi, last summer i completed the gobi march which is a 250 KM endurace foot race in western china located within the gobi desert. the first day i started out just fine, with a regular type sports drink. little to my knowledge at the time, that was a big mistake. i bonked hard at mile 12. then came along another competitor from the UK. he handed me a tube of nuun. from then on it was love at first sip. within about 45 min i was back up and running, and for the rest of the race i used your product. what a life saver. it is the only product on the market i try to push to all my friends. i am currently a Marine serving in Iraq and I am using it out here when i can get it, for my training for some up and coming ultra marathons. you all are awesome!!!!

  • loyal customer

well nuun solved my cramp problem, i was struggling with cramps in my calves or quads around three hours into my adventure races, normally when swapping between disciplines (running/biking). and then I tried nuun, popping one in my pre-race drink, my pack-bladder and then one for post-race and not a case of cramps at all, just tired limbs instead. previously my cramps had been so bad i struggled to make it through the races and on one occasion had even been forced to quit a race half way through, i was worried i wouldn't be able to continue to compete until nuun came to the rescue. definitely an easy to use system to keep hydrated and get those all important salts, will continue to use, especially when i complete in the UK microsoft challenge in stirling later this summer.

  • from bone marrow to the himalayas

hey guys - i just returned home from the himalayas, rock climbing in thailand, and indonesia. i am the bone marrow transplant survivor who used NUUN on my recovery and on my trip. i just wanted to say "thank you". the trip was a success and i was very happy to find that my body did well at altitude, maybe even better than before transplant. for me, NUUN is the easiest rehydration formula to use. it is light weight, has none of the mess that powders have, none of the high sugur content, is fast to prepare, and tastes great. NUUN was great in my recovery from a bone marrow transplant and helped me return to the himalayas as a professional mountain guide. in both of these arenas my life depended on staying hydrated and i know that NUUN really works as I was able to see my kidney function (creatinine) stay in the normal range during high doses of meds that should have shot my levels into the dangerously high range. during a climb of kyazo ri a 20420 peak in nepal, my body stayed hydrated and healthy. i trust NUUN with my life

  • MDS and no hydration issues

hi - i just returned from the Marathon Des Sables last night and wanted to let you know that NUUN worked incredible for me. i finished the MDS placing 10th in the women's division and 171st overall. i had an incredible week of running and not once had any hydration issues. the MDS doctors were telling the runners to use up to 6 salt tablets per 1.5 liters of water besides what they were using as a hydration product because of the heat. i used none of the salt tablets as i felt it was not needed with the NUUN. hence i had an incredible performance while others were struggling around me with dehydration and stomach issues. once again NUUN outperformed itself again for me. i cannot say enough about the product.

  • thanks for keeping me afloat!

here is my fantastic nuun experience: i was spending lots of time in the pool with my new swim club and began having trouble with my feet and calves cramping near the end of my early morning practices in the 136 meter pool here in vancouver. one time in particular, my calf cramped so severely that i was left gripping the side of the pool in severe pain. the lifeguard actually asked if i needed help out of the water. my calf muscle actually cramped so hard, it pulled itself! i was limping for a few days after while it healed. my coaches and training partners hypothesized that the cramping was probably due to an electrolyte deficiency exacerbated by an almost constant state of dehydration (no matter how much water I drank!). i wasn't really interested in having a high sugar sports drink at the pool edge so my good friend suggested I try these nuun electrolyte tablets she had discovered. and the results? DRAMATIC. i am now a happy, happy, virtually cramp-free swimaholic. i make sure i prepare before my workouts with a bit of nuun to get the electrolytes flowing. if i notice my foot or calf muscles itching to spasm, i find a couple sips of my nuun save the day (and a possible pool drowning). i have a constant stock of tubes in my cupboards, and a spare at work for my afternoon training, i am so happy i discovered your product- i look forward to my 2008 pro-triathlon season with my nuun electrolyte tablets. thanks for keeping me afloat!

  • mr hellgate 100k will never again drink the sticky "sports drinks"

i run ultramarathons. the tougher, the better. i am one of nine 5-time finishers of the grueling hellgate 100k race that takes place in the mountains of virginia, in the middle of december, starting at midnight. in the previous four years, this race has left me bruised, battered, with muscle soreness that cannot be described. well, in 2007 nuun was the official electrolyte replacement product for the hellgate 100k. i drank it the entire 14 hours that i was out there. the race went well, and i finished in my second best time. but the recovery is where i really noticed the difference. normally this race leaves me limping for days. but not this year. i was able to run just two days after the event. i had very little muscle soreness. and here's where the story gets better. my wife came down with a stomach flu that same weekend.she could not eat or drink anything for 24 hours. she said that the sports drinks that we had in the house were too sweet. so i talked her into trying some nuun. within hours she was feeling better, getting hydrated again, and on the mend. since my first exposure to nuun at the 2007 hellgate 100k, it has been my go-to product for electrolyte replacement. i will never again drink the sticky "sports drinks" that most races offer.

i was in my usual store, to get GU2O and they recommended that i try nuun...they gave me a sample tablet (triple-berry) and i tried it on a ride today... it was great. it's much less sweet (and GU2O isn't all that sweet, like the yucky gatorade-type stuff) and provided even more NA+ and K+. obviously, it's a whole bunch easier to carry on my bike rides...now, all i need is a tube of nuun in my bike jersey for the long rides, like the centuries, and a couple of water bottles.. where have you been all my (riding) life?!!

  • nuun review

i made a switch this past summer to a new hydration drink. nuun. after two bad hydration experiences that caused extreme cramping during the Fat Tire Festival in 2003 and 2004, i needed to find a solution. i purchased a beautiful pre-owned cannondale road bike in June of 2007 and the miles added up fast. nuun made a difference immediately. my time in the saddle without cramps seemingly doubled. i could spin faster and push myself further than i could before using nuun and i logged more road miles in 2007 than i ever did before. positives: the flavor is not overwhelming. nuun dissolves completely and does not have a gritty taste. the tube and tablets pack easily in your jersey for replenishment along the trail. also works well to cure weekend hangovers

  • no mysterious powder...

we've just added to our stock nuun active hydration tablets. these are electrolyte tablets which hydrate you better than water. rather than being in the usual powder form which flies all over the place when you get it out of the bag on a windy hill (not to mention being stopped at every airport you go through for carrying white powder), it comes in a fast acting tablet which creates a still drink. it also tastes pretty good and comes in a range of flavours - if you're out fell running or even walking this is a practical solution which seems far better than the usual sugary energy drinks.

i've been trying this product for about a month now, and we've decided to stock it at the shop (allegro cyclery). i've found them particularly helpful for staying hydrated on rides in colder weather. the flavour keeps you sipping on your bottle, as opposed to ignoring your bottle of plain, cold water. on longer rides in any season, put the whole sealed tube in your jersey pocket or saddle bag. since you sweat more than plain water, you have to put those minerals back in your system!

  • nuun on standby!

as re-hydration products go, this one rocks and we're not alone in thinking this! you might question the need for re-hydration at this time of year but trust us - you'll need them. hangovers are caused by the brain de-hydrating and because nuun is seriously good at getting fluids back into your system it's also an excellent 'morning after' recovery aid. not, of course, that we are advocating excessive alcohol consumption but just making sure that if you do overdo it there's something on standby.

  • nuun celebration!

to celebrate my 60th birthday, my 20 year old twin sons and i planned to do a long backpack trip this summer, which included a hike to mt. whitney. starting in march, i purchased and we taste-tested 12 different sports hydration products, some that were mixed in water, and some eaten. nuun tablets came in at the top, in flavor, salts and minerals provided, and lowest in weight. and believe me, on a 68 mile backpack with 10,000 feet gain and loss, weight was a huge consideration. nuun helped us make it through 9 long days, and kept us from "hitting the wall." the ease of use was great--2 tablets in our nalgene bottles and we were ready to hit the trail. since our backpack trip, my husband, sons, and i have been using the nuun tablets in our bike water bottles when we cruise around the county on our recumbent bicycles. the flavor's refreshing, unlike some other sports drinks i could mention that leave my mouth feeling like i've been sucking on a lollipop all day. thanks for making a great product!

  • what goes out, must come back in

simply put, the label on a tube of nuun says it all, "active hydration". nuun contains the sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. these are all things an active body is going to need. sodium and potassium are supplied for obvious reasons, athletes sweat these directly out of their systems. what goes out, must come back in or there will be problems. it's a pretty simple equation.

  • no more muscle cramps!

i am an avid bike rider. one problem that has always plagued me are muscle cramps in my legs following a ride. using nuun for the first time on the alaw's big ride pacific coast, i was very pleasantly surprised to find, for maybe the first time ever, no leg cramps! i ran out of tablets a few days before the finish. the first day without nuun, cramped up again! i ended up borrowing enough to make it to san francisco and again, no problems. so, a very sincere thank you for an excellent product.

in 2004 i was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow dissorder called aplastic anemia. full body radiation, 14 rounds of chemo, a bone marrow transplant and 3 years later i have survived and will be heading back to the himalayas to climb and guide on october 13. since then i have used nuun to help with my recovery as my creatinine (liver function) was constantly dangerously high due to transplant and medications i was taking at the time. the use of nuun actually helped keep my liver function at a safe level by hydrating, as my body healed. i will be taking nuun on this upcoming expedition to the himalayas! thank you

  • slight bublicious goodness

i've been a nuun fan since back when it was only available in lemon-lime. the kona-cola has that extra caffeine kick for early morning sessions, while the citrus-fruit combines great with the flavor of my carbohydrate supplement. i stay well hydrated before, during and after workouts thanks to the subtle flavors and slight bublicious goodness that makes me want to keep drinking.

  • to the summit!

i am a professional mountain guide and this summer i tried nuun for the first time on rainier... i loved it! not only for myself but for my clients. you see, climbing rainier in just a few days is one of the hardest endurance events. after every climb most folks are utterly exhausted, sometimes to the point of getting dangerous. after one climb i passed out the nuun tabs like candy and it had a profound impact. i will surely use your product on my future climbs worldwide.

  • great change of pace

as a first year triathlete there's a lot that can overwhelm you, between equipment, training and nutrition, there are a number of variables. thankfully nuun helped answer some questions on the nutrition side of things. when i couldn't stomach sports drinks anymore because of the sugar content, i was able to turn to nuun. i could easily grab a water bottle from the aid station drop in a nuun tablet, and get my fluids and electrolytes without the sugar and sweetness. the clean taste of nuun provided a great change of pace. i finished my first half ironman strong thanks in part to nuun.

  • what a relief!

wow, what a relief! little effervescent tablets you just drop in your water bottle with a light, refreshing taste and very little sweetness. the perfect chaser for your energy bar or gel (which will take care of the carbos you need to replace). i found myself drinking more! the tube fits easily into a seat bag, so if you have access to water, you have your electrolyte replacement on board. no more sticky sweet drinks, messy bags of mix, or expensive little individual serving packets. p.s. i'm riding about 2 mph faster this season

i am currently the head coach for the hawaii youth triathlon series and club, as well as starting a group here in austin, texas. currently my wife, daughter and i use your product and encourage my other athletes to use your product instead of some of the high carbohydrate and sugar containing products currently on the market. nuun is a product that can be used anywhere by just adding it to water versus some of the other products that require more work. my daughter amber competed at ironkids this last weekend where she finished 1st in her age group and is also ranked 10th in the nation as a youth elite triathlete! thanks again!

  • the perfect ironman product

in the past i used salt tablets and drank gatorade - that did not work. this year (and in all training) i finally found something that works 100% of the time. nuun! nuun gave me something so important. it gave me the ability to do an ironman and finish in good health. this stuff is the best! i was able to drink my way around the 112 miles and feel almost 100%. nuun is the best, as after about 4 or 5 hours it was impossible for me to swallow salt tabs. i want to send a huge shout out to the team at nuun for the ultimate ironman product!

  • "nuun-hard to say, easy to digest"

i am easily affected by the heat and dehydration. so, on my "long" ride, i still need to have something other than just water if i don't want to get splitting headaches after the ride. i need electrolytes, nuun provides those electrolytes with out all the sticky, sugary, gooey "goodness" that we are used to. the taste is faint and barely noticeable, which is exactly what i was looking for. i have avoided the affects of dehydration, and did not suffer headaches later in the day as i usually would! when i realized my tube only had one tablet left, i scrambled to find a local dealer so i could buy another tube before my saturday ride!

  • no more antifreeze, please!

thank you! i am currently in week 13 of an 18-week training program for the columbus marathon, my first. i use nuun to hydrate before and after runs, and also use it at the office when my nine- and ten-mile midweek runs have left me feeling sluggish. (ok, so i don't get enough sleep.) i can't believe i will have to put up with 26.2 miles of gatorade endurance formula, which turns my stomach and leaves me feeling nauseated and crampy. i anxiously await the day when race directors will wake up and realize that "the other stuff" would be put to much better use as antifreeze. i love your product.

  • getting back into the spin of things

i have decided to get back in to mountian biking after a 4 year break due to open heart surgery (at age 27). it's been 10 months since i started back up, i have done some longer rides, and hit that wall halfway through. 3 weeks ago 1 did an 18 mile ride and felt really good using some other energy stuff. but at mile 15 i cramped up so bad that i had to sit and wait it out for 20 minutes every 1/4 mile or so...not a fun end to a great ride. the other guys i ride with are in way better shape than i am and they are usually a few minutes ahead of me....so i was way behind them getting back too the parking lot on this day. i heard about nuun from a friend that is training for a triathalon. i went to REI and bought 3 tubes of it. the very next weekend i filled my hydration pack with nuun. off i went to do another 15 mile or so ride at conyers horse park, the site of the 96 olympic mtb events, with the same guys. this course is KILLER....you never get much of a chance to rest with a longer downhill. each down hill is followed by a climb. this time things were better for me. not only did i not cramp, i was also able to keep up with the pack much better. they all commented on the difference form the week before to this week. i am sold on this stuff....it's not the typical snake oil you hear about...this is the real deal IT WORKS. so far i have only tried the kona cola....but i plan on getting through every one of the flavors. thanks!

i'm on the montrail/nathan ultrarunning team and i absolutely LOVE that nuun is helping sponsor us and fuel us with such a smooth, easy to drink, electrolyte substitute. i'm enjoying hurl-free races, smoother energy and mood levels during the ultras (all a factor of my calories and electrolytes/fluids balance). i actually like each of the flavors thus far which is GREAT with my cranky gi tendencies...i look fwd to drinking when i have a nuun tab in the bottle. i appreciate that i can preload them in the nathan handheld pouches for easy access at aid stations... water up... and go.... and the tubes are easy to find in drop bags based on feel. nuun tablets have even helped convince my husband that hydration is good and necessary and makes you feel better ... and with it, he just ran his longest run ever (17.x mi) in prep for his first 50k ever... THANK YOU for taking solid, simple hydration to the racers, the trainers, and the masses! keep up the good work! and holler at us if we can spread the good word in a particular way!

  • nuun is a lifesaver

nuun literally saved my life last week. i am up to 65 miles a day on my training which means i now have to carry more hydration because i am sweating more. dummy me forgot that my blood pressure medication has a diuretic in it and this was causing me to "bonk" and get real close to heat exhaustion on the return leg of my ride. luckily i always carry an extra tube with me in my hydration pack, so i stopped and bought some more water, added some more nuun and was soon on my way again. i shudder to think what would have happened if i had not been able to replace the electrolytes lost in the sweat. i'm a believer, and i am trying to make everyone else i know who cycles a believer as well. bikejournal .com is where i log my miles and i have posted in their forum how much i depend on my nuun, so i hope others will do the same.

  • it tasted almost as good during the last mile as it the during the first

hi nuunites. i first tried nuun when i was mixing some up for an aid station at capitol peak 50 miler near olympia this spring. i thought it was yummy, liked the very slight bubbly feel in my mouth, and ordered a box. i've used it on long (2-10 hour) training runs since then and have been very happy with it. it's also revived me and my husband after we worked ourself silly moving gravel and dirt in the yard all one 90+ degree day. but i hadn't tried it in a race until this past saturday, when I ran the pct 50 miler on mt. hood. i drank nothing but nuun all day and had no cramping and no stomach issues --electrolyte levels and hydration seemed to stay on track all day. it tasted almost as good during the last mile as it did during the first. i usually tire of other drinks so find myself drinking less and before i know it i'm dehydrated. i also really liked the fact that it wasn't contributing to my calorie intake. it was much easier to keep track of the calories i was taking in without having to figure in any in my drink...thanks for creating a great product! really good flavors, not sweet, so convenient to carry on long runs or put in drop bags, and they don't raise eyebrows when you take them through airport security in a carry-on (unlike pre-measured bags of powdered drink mixes!). i've been giving tubes of it to my active sibling/siblings-in-law and they like it too.

  • personal supply of hydration...just for you from the folks at nuun

i filled up my water bottle with water and plopped in a nuun tablet. when i was first sponsored by nuun i wasn't really sure of how my body would react to the new stuff, but over the last several months i have really come to appreciate the ease and convenience of the little tablets. unlike the mystery aide drink they had on the ride, nuun is always the right consistency and taste. when they mix up the power drinks at the rest stop they always seem to use different amounts of powder and this means that sometimes it taste just right but most times it is either too strong or too week. i actually used up an entire bottle of nuun tablets on the ride, and i was so happy to have such a convenient and personal supply of my very own perfect hydration mix.

*NOTE: james is one of nuun's sponsored athletes. we think he's just great! however, we also thought we'd clarify when we say "here we come!" we actually mean "here he comes"... though we will definitely be cheering and screaming for him.

the xterra season so far has been HOT! most xterra races get off to later starts and we are still racing in the middle of the day in 90+ degree heat. this has made staying hydrated both during before the race and during the race itself very important. nuun has been a key to my success. by the time i finish the swim, come off the bike, and head out to the run it’s already been a long, hot day. i take in nuun on the course and it is my sole source of electrolytes and regardless of the heat, i know when i hit the run i am hydrated and ready to throw down. nuun just makes it easy-no need to fumble around with pills or the sugary drinks offered on the course. i will continue to use nuun as i train and race myself to the xterra national and world championships.

just wanted to say thanks for your awesome product , it's my favorite sports drink - period! prior to joining team mobile money, i'd never heard of nuun. i'd tried gatorade, powerade, sustain (some other powdered drink), and others, but never found one that i LOVED. the others all "worked", but left me feeling even more thirsty, and most had far to "sticky-sweet" of a taste. i gave nuun a shot and instantly noticed a difference in the taste - a GOOD thing. it works beautifully for me whether it be 40-degrees out, 90-degrees, etc. No sugary or overbearing aftertaste at all - just pure refreshment. i'm a firm believer in nuun now and promote it to others every chance I get.

i am the sales and product expert for REI tukwila and i received your very generous gift of nuun products to demo with my staff last week. i am always up for trying an electrolyte mix and i was highly impressed with its performance. i REALLY appreciate the "no sugar" aspect and the flavors were wonderful and not too “sicky” sweet. i climbed 3 peaks this past week training for some larger mountains and used nuun every time. i will be passing these out to my staff tomorrow with some first hand experience. thank you for letting us demo them! you have an excellent product for the REI customer.

  • a healthier alternative sports drink-try it!

**NOTE-we're quite fond of about.com and were a bit estastic to find this lovely article about nuun from jesslyn. click here to read more here **

maybe i should ask "have you heard of them?" i've tried a lot of hydration helpers: gatorade, powerade, refresh, accelerade, trek, but none of them can beat nuun tabs for me. why? because nuun has no sugar, no calories, no unnecessary ingredients. it tastes good (once you get used to it anyway), costs less (when you look at it per serving), and packs light. basically, nuun is the healthy version of sports drinks. and they've just gotten better: a new flavor, kona cola, has been introduced. beware! your first sip may surprise you if you expect a refreshing soda flavor. everyone i know who has tried it has said that at first it tasted a little medicine-y but that after a few sips they got used to it and most even liked it. personally, i think it's great! i have a cola substitute when i want a soda with my after-run meal. and it's not SO fantastic that i want to drink it all the time. perfect! my suggestion is that if you are a sports drink fan looking for a healthier alternative, try nuun. if you can't quit the sodas, try nuun.

  • scoring in more ways than one!

got the stuff today! hurray! went 3-for-4 at the plate in softball tonight and attribute all my base hits to nuun hydration. just broke 4 tablets to fit into bottled water bottles (good idea "scoring" them for easy breaking) for an adirdondack peaks climb tomorrow. trust nuun will get me to the top of 4,600+ feet mt. dix. thanks for your help (and coolness).

  • spread the nuun love

i love nuun, can't find anything that even compares to it and so i am wondering why no one in my town carries it in their store? I live in cs and i think this is a market that would really use your wonderful product. just thought i'd let you know. i'll keep spreading the word as i run. *NOTE from team nuun- we're quite busy in trying to spread the nuun love and unfortunately may not be in some shops that are most convenient to some of our customers...though we are trying. if you can get your favourite local shop to carry nuun, we'll send you a nice little gift as a thank you!

  • nuun helps through a long day and many more to come...

i have for the past year been using nuun to get me through training and racing. however, only recently have i discovered how great it actually is. i won my first big race of the year a few weeks back (one o one, in bradenton, florida) i consumed 6 tablets of nuun throughout the race, and i felt amazing almost the whole way (i think i'd be superwoman if i didn't admit to feeling wasted towards the last stages of the run). nuun enabled me to keep my hydration up while replacing all the minerals that my body was using during the race. thanks nuun for getting me through a long day..........and many more to come.

  • nuun user for 3 years and still going strong

i first learned about nuun at the ’04 ironman coeur d’alene. just before the start of the race i noticed this guy drop these “unusual” little tablets into his water bottles. i asked him what they were all about and he told me a little bit about nuun and how convenient and effective they were. i purchased a tube shortly thereafter and have been hooked ever since!

  • take a chance and nuun is great!

i tried nuun just from seeing your website link on mind over mountain adventure racing. i was training for the momar race so i thought i’d take a chance and try your product. i am so glad i did – its fantastic – no upset stomach and not to sweet. i've introduced it to my trail running friends and now they’re hooked on it to. i can’t wait to try the different flavours available. we recently competed in the squamish momar and our team used nuun and we had a great race with no cramping. nuun is great!!!

  • increased endurance, decreased pr times for competitive rower

i am a senior in high school and a competitive varsity rower. i used to be tired all the time with academics, crew, college applications, and of course, maintaining my mental sanity. after i started taking nuun daily and drinking a much more abundant amounts of water, the change was unbelievable. my endurance is much longer, i have more energy, and my PR times have dropped significantly. this is an amazing product. thank you!

  • nuun helps on a ride of a lifetime

** note from nuun: keith and three other friends are biking 2700+ miles from alberta to the us/mexico border in 70 days. we're very fortunate to get such kind words from keith and a mention on their blog. we were super excited that we've put the content here but to read more and check up these crazy folks -click here **

recently, while riding up at the kingdom trails in vermont, i tried a new electrolyte replacement tablet that i really liked. its a new product called nuun (pronounced noon) and i felt it really helped prevent me from cramping up on a 6+ hour ride. i raced up every hill we encountered (i cannot say nuun directly helped with that) and felt no cramping or fatigue (nuun definitely had a hand in that!). so far i have tried the lemon lime and tri-berry flavors and have enjoyed them both. all i do is fill up my bottle with water, pop one in and BAM its all mixed and ready to drink in a couple of minutes. i have a few friends that use it hiking and enjoy the sensation of not being sore when they get back to the car. the best part is, there is no sugar so you don't get that bell curve rush of energy and it doesn't pollute your camelbak. thank to Jack and tim at nuun for helping us on our quest to stay hydrated on the 2700 mile journey!

  • first tri with nuun and all goes well

hi, wanted to write and let you know i just did florida 70.3 and used nuun for the first time in a race. i am happy to say that things went real well! it was the first race ever (half iron distance) that i did not have any cramping or stomach problems and it was nice and hot out too!! nuun was real nice and easy on my stomach and tasted good too. iam looking forward to using nuun in my upcoming races which include another half ironman and ironman wisconsin! glad i found your product! it was recommended to me by a sales rep at mission bay multisport in IL. thanks again for a great product!

  • lightweight for long rides

i used your product for the first time at the tour de cure bicycle ride here in the northwest. i tried several of the flavors and liked all of them. having lightweight tablets to stash in my bag is great for long rides when hydration isn’t always satisfied with water alone.

  • with love from nuun

all i can say is WOW! i certainly did not expect your 'love kit'...still shocked & amazed..that's the most caring and detailed customer service i've ever received anywhere...and the hand written note...i'd say your customer care was above and beyond any expectations i had... i wish i lived in seattle...nuun is a company i'd love to work for!

  • pop, fizz, ohh, ahh.

i had seen the nuun sponsorships at some events (and even received a free tube at the sun devil criterium), but one of the dads that rides with us showed up with some nuun one morning and said a triathlete friend of his recommended it. he popped it in his bottle, it fizzed, we all went "Oooooh!", and we've been using it ever since.

  • hiking for 13.5 hours and feeling fabulous!

i tried nuun on a century ride and really liked it. over the next few weeks i drank nuun on every bike ride from our nightly rides of 20 miles to a couple of 60+ mile rides. on may 17th, i hiked rim to rim in the grand canyon in 13 1/2 hours. i used nuun (citrus flavor) in my hydration pack and in my water bottles. it was so easy to carry in my pack. everytime there was drinkable water, i just refilled and added a couple of tablets. from phantom ranch to cottonwood camp - about 8 miles - it was about 105 degrees. i drank about 140 ounces of nuun. others in my group felt the effects of dehydration but i felt great the whole time. thanks for a great product. i plan to continue to use it biking, hiking, running and during triathlons. btw - the best thing about nuun is no more "science experiments" growing in my water bottle!

  • diggin' the tri-berry

nuun-ites...wanted to let you know that i truly digg your products. i think the berry flav is currently the bomb out here as most that have tried it seem to love it. i found out about you folks via the race athlete website as well as the pod-casters (simply stu, zen and the art of triathlon, etc.) advertising your product. they have all been correct about it thus far, i do pass it along to all of my friends that will tolerate my blathering about all of my nifty triathlon stuff. much thanks

  • nuun+100 miles+4,812 ft elevation gain= tour de cure craziness

the tour de cure is a series of bike rides, ranging from 20 miles to the full 100-mile century ride, and takes place around the country as a nationwide day of riding to raise money for the american diabetes association. it was 5:30 in the morning and the rain was coming down pretty hard. when i finally did drag myself out of bed, the rain was still coming down but at least i was a bit more rested. the century ride i was registered for started at 7:00 -- which i wasn't going to make -- but i figured i would just show up and ride the route on my own as a solo time trial. there were five aid stations out on the course, three of which i visited, and i must say that the volunteers and support on the ride were top-notch. plenty of good fruit, energy bars, bagels, and water and nuun. i've been using the nuun electrolyte tablets (dissolved in water for a subtle-tasting sugar-free drink) and love them. and it's good to support a local company. i was thrilled to see them out on the course, and even more excited at the rest stop at mile 80 to see that Nuun has recently introduced a new caffeinated cola flavor. believe it or not, but "flat coke" is one the long-time secrets of endurance athletes. you don't want the carbonation so you have to leave it sitting out for a while, but the sugar and caffeine make for a great pick-me-up in the late stages of a race. and now nuun has the flavor available too -- and it tasted great! very cool. i was pretty fried by the end of the ride and the last few miles of the ride were indeed painful, but i finished in 5:38 for an average of 17.6mph over the 99.4 mile course. also ended up with 4,812 feet of elevation gain too, which is a fair amount for a century ride.

  • headache be gone!

** NOTE - we're very lucky to get such kind words from dimity and a mention in her blog...we were so chuffed we've put the content here but to read more - click here **

After my two-Nalgene-bottle a day experiment last week, I was definitely hydrated. My body was functioning like a hose: water in, water out. I was psyched to thrive on my 80-minute run. (And, just as importantly, after it, since, among other things on this Saturday, I had swimming lessons to go to, flowers to plant and a bathroom to clean). I ran well, came home, ready to get on with my day. And then I felt another please-no-please-no headache coming on again. I couldn't believe it: my urine had been basically clear for five days. What else could I do?

Fortunately, somebody is smarter than I am about training: my coach, Ivana Bisaro of Carmi
