Consumption differs by individual and product line, depending on activity, sweating and medical needs. That said, most people consume 1-3 tabs a day depending on their needs. We recommend not exceeding 3 tabs per day.

All Nuun branded products do not contain any nutrients that cannot be consumed by children, and the refreshing taste and sodium may encourage them to drink more water. However, daily requirements for children differ to what’s recommended for adults. Some of our products contain small amounts of caffeine (up to 40 mg per serving), and these products when consumed in greater quantities may not be suitable for children. We suggest consulting with your child’s physician prior to use.
Our tablet products (Nuun Sport, Nuun Vitamins, Nuun Immunity, Nuun Rest) contain small amounts of both carbs and sugar. We use 1-2 gram of dextrose (d-glucose) to help increase the rate of fluid and nutrient delivery. Dextrose is high on the glycemic index (GI), but the minimal amount of dextrose in our tablet products will have a little to no impact on blood sugar. We recommended consulting with your physician with any additional questions or concerns.
Most of the nutrients in Nuun are water-soluble, any excessive consumption will be excreted through urine. However, some of our products contain over 300mg of sodium. Excessive sodium intake for sedentary individuals can lead to chronic diseases. Our Nuun Sport and Nuun Endurance product lines are meant to be consumed before, during, or after exercise.

All of our products are soy and dairy free, and we are gluten free and vegan certified! Our tablets are manufactured in a facility that is nut and peanut free. It is also a dedicated gluten-free facility which includes wheat. Our powder products are manufactured in a facility that processes other products which may contain soy, dairy, wheat, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, peanuts, and eggs.
We do use non-GMO derived dextrose (from corn) in our products. Some of our products do contain grapefruit as a natural flavor: Nuun Sport Citrus Fruit, Nuun Vitamins Grapefruit Orange, and Nuun Immunity Citrus Orange. All Nuun products contain corn-derived dextrose and citric acid derived from fermented molasses and non-GMO corn. The source of our B-vitamins is Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate and folic acid, which are commonly derived from plant (corn, grain, etc.) or synthetic sources.
According to the Non-GMO Project standard, our products do not contain any genetically modified or engineered organisms, and/or DNA manipulation in the final product form. Our tablets and powder products should be stored in a cool, dry place (at or below 77-80 degrees Fahrenheit). For powders, be sure to re-seal the canister properly after use.
The Best By dates on our products varies by product line. The expiration date can be found stamped on the bottom of the tube or canister. Once added to water, we recommend storing pre-mixed Nuun in the fridge and consuming within the week. The longer it sits, the more flavor and electrolyte profile can degrade.
Yes! You can certainly prepare your Nuun in advance to make the morning of the race or a training session more convenient. We’ve noticed that refrigerating for several days only affects the flavoring, not the nutrient content or quality.
Tubes can be recycled at any facility that processes #5 plastics. However, only the tube itself is recyclable; the waterproof stopper is not yet recyclable.
The tiny beads are made up of silicon dioxide. They help retain any moisture present within the tube. Silicon dioxide is non-toxic.
