Ben plays his rookie PGA Tour season in 2011 after nearly winning the PGA Tour qualifying tournament in 2010. Before that, he won the EGOLF Tour’s Forest Oaks Classic for his first victory in just two professional starts.
A native of Greenwood, SC, Ben played collegiately at Clemson. As a senior, Ben was named Clemson’s Male Student-Athlete of the year in recognition of his high achievements on the course and in the classroom.
At Clemson, he was an All-American and one of fewer than fifteen players in program history to be named First Team All-ACC three times.
In amateur golf, Ben made it to the finals of the 2009 U.S. Amateur, which earned him spots at the 2010 Masters and U.S. Open. He also competed in the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage, which makes him the first Clemson player ever to play in three majors as an amateur.
Ben Martin brings valuable major championship experience with him to the start of his professional career.
